BioToP at BOKU University Vienna
BOKU has established the Vienna Institute of BioTechnology (VIBT) that integrates the Departments of Applied Genetics and Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Food Sciences and Technology, and Nanobiotechnology, and has a close association with the Department of Material Sciences and Process Engineering. The spectrum of activities ranges from basic research to the development of viable technologies. With its integration of biosciences, engineering sciences, business and management studies the VIBT is designed as a technology-oriented supplement to the pure science-oriented biotechnology centres.
All laboratories of BioToP are located at VIBT within three adjacent buildings, thus allowing regular interactions between all faculty members and students.

How to reach us:
by car
Cars can be parked directly within the departmental building on an underground car park.
Arriving from Brno/Drasenhofen: Following road B7 you will arrive in Vienna on “Brünner Straße”. Go straight and cross the Danube River on “Floridsdorfer Brücke”. Then turn right at the third traffic light, drive under the railroad and over another river. At the end of the road turn right at the traffic light. The Boku-Building will be right there.
Arriving from Praha/Kleinhaugsdorf: Following B303 and A22 you will arrive Vienna on the highway. Take the exit “Nordbrücke/Gürtel” and then the third exit “Grinzing”. This is also the first exit immediately after passing two rivers. Turn right at the traffic light. The Boku-Building will be right there.
Arriving from Linz/Salzburg: Entering Vienna on highway A1, continue straight towards the city center. Turn left following the signs “Gürtel” and drive on on Gürtel (B221). Turn left towards “Grinzing” and take the second street to the right. Cross under the railroad and turn left at the traffic light. The Boku-Building will be right there.
Arriving from Graz/Klagenfurt: Entering Vienna on A2 follow the signs to “Favoriten” and “Praha”. You will drive along A23 and A22. Take the exit “Nordbrücke/Gürtel” and then the third exit “Grinzing”. This is also the first exit immediately after passing two rivers. Turn right at the traffic light. The Boku-Building will be right there.
Arriving from Budapest/Bratislava: Entering Vienna on highway A4 follow the signs to “Praha”. You will drive along A23 and A22. Take the exit “Nordbrücke/Gürtel” and then the third exit “Grinzing”. This is also the first exit immediately after passing two rivers. Turn right at the traffic light. The Boku-Building will be right there.

Arriving at Vienna International Airport, take the City Airport Train to “Landstraße - Wien Mitte” and change to underground U4 (green line) heading “Heiligenstadt”. Leave the underground at “Heiligenstadt” (the terminal stop of U4) and follow the walking instructions below.
Arriving at Westbahnhof take the underground U6 (brown line) heading “Floridsdorf”. At “Spittelau”, change to underground U4 (green line) towards “Heiligenstadt”. Leave the underground at “Heiligenstadt” (the terminal stop of U4) and follow the walking instructions below.
Arriving at Wien Meidling, take the underground U6 (brown line) heading “Floridsdorf”. At “Spittelau”, change to underground U4 (green line) towards “Heiligenstadt”. Leave the underground at “Heiligenstadt” (the terminal stop of U4) and follow the walking instructions below.
Walking Instructions:
Starting at the platform of underground line U4 in “Heiligenstadt”, go down the escalator and turn right. Walk down the tunnel and follow the path to the crossroads. Turn right and follow Muthgasse to the Boku-building (Muthgasse 18).
